Marakely

Marakely

Marakely means “black fish” in the local language of Malagasy, but it is also known as a black diamond cichlid for the iridescent spots along its dark body. Like angelfish and tilapia, these freshwater fish are members of the Cichlidae family. Endemic freshwater fish are Madagascar’s most endangered animals.
